Olivier GERGAUD

Olivier Gergaud is professor of economics at KEDGE Business School, affiliate researcher at LIEPP Sciences Po and adjunct professor at New York University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Reims and an accreditation to supervise research from Sciences Po Paris. His research areas are Restaurant economics, Wine economics, Cultural economics, Sports economics, Economics of pro-social behavior, and the Economics of voting. He has been visiting professor at different European (Sciences Po, Université Libre de Bruxelles), North American (NYU, UCLA, HEC Montreal) and Oceania universities (University of Canterbury). He has received several academic honors including the Duncan Black Prize for the best article published in 2019 by a senior scholar in Public choice, the President's prize during the 12th International Conference of the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI) and a Certificate of Merit for his Ph.D. from the French Economic Association. At Kedge Business School, Olivier Gergaud both leads the Food, Wine & Hospitality Center of Excellence and the Responsible Wine Consumption Chair that he founded in 2019 with Vin & Société. He is also head and co-founder of the Alliance for Research on Wine & Hospitality Management. Olivier Gergaud has published about 30 papers on different topics in applied economics, marketing and management in international journals such as Economic Journal, Ecological Economics, Plos One, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Portfolio Management, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Family Business Review, Journal of Sports Economics, Journal of Wine Economics, Journal of Cultural Economics. He publishes columns in Le Monde on a regular basis and got substantial coverage in the media (e.g., The New York Times, The Guardian, The Sunday Telegraph, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Financial Times, Le Monde, France 5, etc.). Last, he serves on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Wine Economics and on the editorial board of the Journal of Prediction Markets.
