After an initial training in space design, Gilles BERTRAND continued his studies at the National School of Applied Arts and Crafts in Paris (ENSAAMA). Graduating as product designer in 1985, he joined the global design agency MBD Design (http: // www .mbd-design.fr /), supervised by Alain and Yves Domergue then Vincent Créance where he worked for more than 22 years and translated his training into action.
During that time, he developed a strong expertise in the fields of transport, medical equipment, high-tech products, childcare, volume packaging, etc. His pragmatic approach to design led him to work on complex issues for an international customer base.
Now teaching at KEDGE DESIGN SCHOOL (formerly Euromed Design) since January 2010, he has been striving to give students the fundamentals and passion for a rapidly changing profession (http://www.kedgebs.com/). His work is a way of questioning the world to better understand it and meet its needs. By projecting himself into another "space-time" he tries through his teaching to answer existing and future social challenges and to develop an ethic of design
