It has never been more important for businesses to use their economic, environmental and social resources efficiently. Two researchers developed a study in order to add value to sustainable performances; this approach has since been used by businesses such as BMW, BASF and Airbus in order to incorporate environmental and social aspects into the strategic choices made and in monitoring the performance of corporate sustainability. This tool measures the longevity of resources and materials in products in order to help businesses proceed towards a circular economy.
