KEDGE History

In 2013, KEDGE was founded from the merger of two renowned business schools, well-established in their respective regions and already benefiting from international outreach: BEM (Bordeaux Management School) in Bordeaux founded in 1874 and EUROMED Management in Marseilles founded in 1872.

BEM IN BORDEAUX SINCE 1874

  • 1874: Creation of École Supérieure de Commerce de Bordeaux
  • 1969: The School was set up at the Talence campus
  • 2001: The School obtained Equis accreditation (European Quality Improvement System)
  • 2004: The school was chosen by ONU and EFMD for the 'Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative' launch
  • 2007: The School obtained AMBA accreditation (Association of MBAs)
  • 2008: A campus was opened in Dakar
  • 2009: The School obtained AACSB accreditation ( Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business)

EUROMED MANAGEMENT IN MARSEILLE SINCE 1872

  • 1872: Creation of École Supérieure de Commerce de Marseille
  • 1968: The School was set up at the Luminy campus
  • 2001: The Multi-Stakeholder Board of Directors was created
  • 2005: The School obtained Equis accreditation and became a member of the United Nations (Global Compact)
  • 2007: The School obtained AMBA accreditation (Association of MBAs)
  • 2009: The legal status of EUROMED Management was changed (association under law 1901)
  • 2010: The Suzhou campus was opened in China and the Institut Franco-Chinese was launched in partnership with Renmin University of China. The Toulon Ecole Supérieure de Commerce et Technologie (ESCT) and the Ecole Internationale de Design (EID) were acquired
  • 2011: The School obtained AACSB accreditation

KEDGE, A NEW HIGHER EDUCATION PROVIDER

  • 2012: Announcement of the merger between BEM and EUROMED Management 
  • 2013: Official launch of KEDGE Business School
  • 2015: KEDGE Business Club, the Paris-based campus was opened
  • 2017 and 2018 : KEDGE nurseries inauguration in Marseille and Bordeaux
  • 2018 and 2019 : New campuses in Paris and Toulon, Marseille campus extension and new spaces on Bordeaux campus
  • 2019 : Opening of KEDGE Design in Marseille 
  • 2020 : Creation of the KEDGE Wine School and the PHD program
