International Business programme testimonials
I am an alumni of the International Business programme, and I am now Vice President for HDF Energy in Mexico City. My job is to develop a pipeline of projects in the Latin American region. I set up a strategy to find the best fitted project for the company, from viability studies, to the selection of the suitable land, and all the technical and financial aspects to take the project to execution. I chose to do this MSc after graduating with an English degree. Back then, I worked as a translator, but I quickly realised that sales related activities suited me better, so I enrolled on the International Business programme. I'm very grateful because it has given me the key tools and skills for my job, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking to do business in an international environment.
I went to a top ranked Grandes Ecole in south of France to pursue my Masters in International Business. Kedge Business School in Marseille became my next study destination and the city became my next abode. New city, new education system was definitely a surprise initially for me as I spend all my previous years in my home country but this place and it’s people welcomed me with open hearts.
I still remember my first day in France when I landed at the airport in Marseille provence and a team of students from my school came to pick me up. This support was extended to me for the entire year which in return is being offered by me to the future students.
Education system is really challenging as it compels you to work in both groups & individually. It’s fully of practical experiments, seminars, guest lectures and in the end industry visits.
I met students from more than 10 nationalities in my class and professors from more than 30. I would be studying Marketing from a French professor but Finance from a Tunisian one. Operations was taught by somebody from Japan and let me assure you all of these elite professors are industry leaders and the knowledge they share with you is the real time one as they share their daily experiences with you in the class and not just something from the books which were written 30 years ago.
Right after my ninth month during school, I got a job in Paris. Yes, you read it right, in nine months. Infact I am still a student as this job is a mandatory part of my diploma which I would get next year. Even I was taken by surprise that how different things looked when I was in India compared to where I am today. I was a student of International Business majoring in International Marketing and today my job is exactly what I studied at the school. I am working as a Country Manager to India for a french company based in Paris.
“The Global Business Plan enabled me to achieve my ambition of setting up a company specialising in 3D software programmes. It is a real incubator for new ideas and a springboard for start ups.”
“I entered the International Business programme with just the zest for challenge and desire to learn all I could and what followed was a fantastic experience in a widely multicultural environment. Team work with fellow classmates from different countries, lectures from professors with hands-on experience in incubation, geopolitics & consulting, study trips, courses through interactive gaming-like simulations etc., made the journey a true experience rather than just another academic curriculum. I now work for Global Purchasing in DELPHI Automotive in Luxembourg, where I look after large scale procurement in the EMEA region. Dreams ahead, miles to go and very happy about the good start now.”
“I am an Area Export Manager (Germanspeaking countries), in charge of sales and business development for a wine trader specialised in Bordeaux grands crus. Cultural and multicultural diversity in the International Business MSc programme was a real plus. The teaching was delivered by top-class faculty and we had the best tools to work with. Today, I am able to adapt to complex situations and thrive in an international environment.”
As a person who has an engineering background, the overall experience I acquired while studying at the International Business programme was very unique and helpful for whom I want to be in my future career. What I found most rewarding was the quality of lecturers and the content of the courses. The professors of the programme educate students in a very creative way and encourage them to think out of the box to broaden their knowledge beyond their field of studies. Also, the programme has a strong international focus where students learn business principles relevant for a more global world. Having classmates of different cultures and professions, I grew as an individual, learning to interact and talk to people from different backgrounds.
I joined the International Business MSc for its broad range of disciplines, allowing to understand the global operations of a company, and its geopolitics and international law focus, providing an understanding of the global context and setting in which companies operate. I was able to complete my Master's degree with an internship at the United Nations in New York, where I joined the NGO department team, in charge of coordinating the integration of non-governmental organisations into the Economic and Social Council of the UN. The scope of the programme allows students to grow into multi-skilled graduates while at the same time preserving the client-oriented mindset, highly sought after by recruiters in all types of organisations. The programme also trains qualified, solution-oriented managers. Finally, the International Business MSc has confronted us with international challenges that prepare us for tomorrow's work environment. This master's degree has allowed me to develop my skills in teamwork and multicultural cooperation, and has increased my awareness of international and complex issues and contexts.
