International Trade & Maritime Logistics programme testimonials
Everything related to logistics
I chose this programme because I wanted to specialise in the intricacies of logistics and the associated risks. This course provided me with the expertise I was seeking. I now work as the national manager for QHSE and CSR at Bolloré Logistics in Canada, where I have been working for five years. Coming from an MSc with a strong focus on logistics, this role within the QHSE department offers a different perspective and reflects the versatility provided by the programme. My goal is to continue advancing within the company, especially at the regional level. Currently, I work at the national level, but within this group, numerous growth opportunities exist. I believe it is important to demonstrate authenticity and emphasize interpersonal skills, as the logistics industry is a true community where good emotional intelligence is key.
Understand the onshore side of the maritime business
I was a seafarer on board container vessels for 3 years and I wanted to get a master’s degree in maritime and logistics field. I found Kedge Business School with its well-known International Trade & Logistics program and it was one of my target to get a master’s degree abroad and working in a maritime or logistics company office and settle down after challenging sea experience. The curriculum of the program was very well organized and it allowed me to develop my skills not only in maritime but also in logistics and to understand the onshore side of the maritime business. During the program I learned a lot from important professors mostly coming from industry and I learned from my classmates coming from different backgrounds and countries through group studies. Today, I work in a French oil & gas performance management company in an international environment and I am using my sea experience and the management capabilities that I gained at Kedge Business School which is very important for me.

I choose this Master for 2 reasons: Master's degree allowed me to pursue a specialist area of interest that, I wanted to develop during my previous career. KEDGE has a good network of professionals to guide me during my thesis. My job consist in : assisting in implementation of the energy governance and monitoring system of 71 vessels in d'amico societa di navigazione S.p.A Italian tanker operator based in roma ; improving performance monitoring service to ship-owner and charter party, towards a green maritime attitude; working with a dedicated team, commercially situated around the globe.
A fundamental milestone in my career
My experience at the MSc Maritime at Kedge was a fundamental milestone in my career. It not only was my first abroad academic experience, but it has as well provided me with the necessary insight in the industry to successfully start my Start-Up, WINIM, that needed a complex logistic and commercial network. And the technical knowledge was not the only aid it gave me to do it: I gained other essential skills such as negotiation, innovative mindset or a broad and flexible business approach. Moreover, I could be said that the MSc helped me sign my first investors, as they valued that I already had an international experience, and I could easily cope with other cultural environments if they were interested in expanding WINIM to different horizons. It is that mix between academic excellence and the international, business-oriented perspective of the MSc that gave KEDGE.

The combination of courses in managerial skills and international transport can only lead to a result that meets the expectations of companies.
Moreover, the reputation of this master represents a real advantage for recruiters. Indeed, it allowed me to join the CMA CGM group and to evolve within it. Currently Ship Manager, I am in charge of several ships on a shipping line and plan to continue to take on responsibilities in my preferred fields."

Supported by this MSc, I was recruited by CMA-CGM Head Office right after my graduation. My mission is to optimize the loading capacity and available space on board. I will continue working in shipping industry and focus on the field of operation in the future.
A wide range of career opportunities
The MSc programme opened up a wide range of career opportunities for me. It enabled me to move from the yachting business to the shipping industry. This training is a real plus for anyone wanting to pursue an international career in the maritime transport industry.
KEDGE Scholarship helped me success in shipping
A one year compact master of science with unique specialty and focus on maritime industry was the course I was seeking for. KEDGE Scholarship helped me success in shipping. Business development, setting pricing policy and commercial analysis are among my responsibilities nowadays in CMA-CGM. Law courses were the nutshell of this MSc, thought by a professional team which opened a new horizon in international trade and logistics for me.
A solid theoretical and professional training
“After a university exchange program in Mexico as part of the Master 1 degree, I had the opportunity to continue my education in a work-study program. The degree provides solid theoretical and professional training in the fields of supply chain management, sales, international transport and logistics. This teaching gave me concrete knowledge of the business world and its issues related to international trade. After completing my work-study program at DB SCHENKER, I joined CMA CGM as an Area Manager for the LATAM lines.
The case studies are the real asset of the program
“After a master's degree in business law, I found this program extremely comprehensive. It prepares us to manage, from start to finish, business issues, internationally. With this experience, I continued, at the end of the program, at BOURBON OFFSHORE where I had completed my work-study program to lead a project to create and market a new activity.
The case studies, real assets of the program, helped me in each phase of this project (market analysis, development of business process, creation of an offer, negotiation, etc ...).
After the signing of the first contracts, I decided to satisfy my wish for expatriation by joining the PARLYM group, whose general manager had attended our final case presentations.
Based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, I am currently in charge of pipeline installation and LPG sphere construction projects in the Vridi area. I thus develop my technical expertise in energies and my knowledge of Africa, in order to take charge of the commercial development of a region on this continent.”
"Employment pass to the international market"
In the purchasing sector, the product is at the heart of the company's strategy with new challenges in terms of innovation and sustainability. The notions of quality and price are the fundamental elements of our jobs as buyers, and the third key is the time required to make the goods available.
Internationally, inbound or outbound logistics is therefore one of the components of the final price. It is a significant lever for optimisation and savings and requires mastery of all aspects, especially customs and legal. This learning process requires training.
In a world where 80% of international trade is carried out by sea, it is quite natural that I chose one of the best training courses in this field, "the Msc International Trade & Logistics". The training is very practical and provides the necessary theoretical basis for acquiring expertise in the field of international transport. It is also the access to a dynamic professional network with programmes such as mentoring that led me to the company I joined following the Master's degree.
Today, I am the purchasing and logistics manager for the Marseille-based group CIS, which generates 100% of its turnover internationally.
In this context, I was able to acquire and consolidate expertise in Africa, the Middle East, Eurasia and South America. I lead an international team with which we implement and manage the purchasing strategy in more than twenty countries.
Theoretical learning with practical application
"After obtaining the Master of Science in International Trade and Logistics, I was able to join the Amazon Logistics group as a logistics team leader. This program was a springboard and allowed me to quickly find a job in line with my career goals. I chose to complete this well-known course in order to develop my managerial skills, but also to develop a certain level of versatility allowing me to increase my employability in three different sectors: trade, logistics and transport. The diversity of the courses taught and the professionalism of the various participants are all elements that only enhance this program, combining theoretical learning with practical application through the different case studies that we cover during the year. Finally, the fact that the international aspect lies at the heart of the program and that training can be done on a work-study basis are significant assets”
A strong pillar of my development in commerce in general and specifically transportation
This dual degree program giving access to an MSc in Maritime Management and a Master II level diploma in International Trade & Logistics has been a strong pillar of my development in commerce in general and specifically transportation, logistics, supply chain, production, but also of my understanding of governing macro-economical and geopolitical dynamics.
Having already invested myself in the maritime industry prior to joining the program and upon graduation, I joined CMA CGM’s freshly created Project Cargo Division specialized in containerized breakbulk shipping, meaning the transportation of oversized and overweight commodities (heavy machinery, yachts, catamarans, trains...) aboard containerships.
Once my first assignement finished, my next mission took me to Shanghai, China where I kept on working for CMA CGM’s Project Cargo Division and focused on regional business development in charge of increasing the company’s reach in the Indian Sub-Continent and the Middle East Gulf trades.
I strongly recommend this program to all level professionals working in international trade or prospective students seeking a diverse learning experience from field experts coming from horizons such as shipping and logistics, banking, trading, and top-level academics.
Become a competent and versatile player in international development
The MSc in International Trade & Logistics offered me all the necessary skills to reach my professional goal: developing our French SMEs internationally.
Holder of a DUT [2-year university diploma] in Marketing Techniques, an L3 degree in Applied Foreign Languages and an M1 degree in International Trade and Emerging Countries, I chose to complete this M2 degree in a work-study program to take a first step towards the professional world and give me every opportunity on the job market.
During the work-study program set up with KEDGE, I held the position of Export Sales Assistant in a Danish agri-food group specialising in fish food. My role was the administrative management, transportation and payments of all orders coming from Africa.
Today Export Manager at Gourdon, a Landes company with 60 employees specialising in the manufacture of trailers and tanks for agricultural, public works and environmental applications, I participate in the promotion of our brand on the international scene on a daily basis: preparation of all the necessary tools (brochures and technical manuals, etc.), meetings with partners (freight forwarders, banks, consultants, etc.) and business development (international trade shows, trips abroad, etc.). Today we work in Northern and Eastern Europe, as well as in North and Sub-Saharan Africa.
This training allowed me to acquire and consolidate skills in business development and marketing/transport and logistics/contract and transport law/banking, finance and risk management – all in an international context.
The sheer quality of the teaching
I was amazed by the sheer quality of the teaching, and by how many professional opportunities KEDGE opened up for me.
