Valentina Montalto is a multidisciplinary scholar holding a PhD in Geography from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Her educational background encompasses cultural economics and management, cultural policies, and culture-related statistics. With 15 years of experience in international environments, she has worked for UNESCO on the implementation of the UNESCO Culture 2030 Indicators, for the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission as project lead of the “Cultural and Creative Cities Monitor,” and as a senior advisor at KEA, a leading Brussels-based firm specialized in policy design for the Cultural and Creative Sectors. Throughout her career, Valentina has developed a solid track record of academic and professional publications aimed at supporting evidence-based policy making and implementation, particularly at the urban and EU levels. Her current research interests focus on culture measurement and indicators development, city image and sustainable cultural tourism, and policies and strategies for creative territories and cultural capitals.
