Elisabeth Jouannaux (academic director of the Msc International Trade and Logistics), Pierre Cariou (teacher and member of the Maritime Governance, Trade and Logistics lab at KEDGE) and Laurent Fedi (KEDGE associate teacher) held a conference on Illegal Transportations and Trades on Tuesday, December 15th 2020.
This digital event that was held in English provided students with an opportunity to gain knowledge on environment-related logistic issues and find solutions to their problems.
Several conferences were hosted with prestigious speakers:
- Lorelie ESCOT, Wildlife Trade Project Officer at WWF France, co-animated a discussion with Pierre CARIOU to present WWF actions as well as the stakes of the illegal business of the protection species. The impact and role of transportation in this business was also at stake. This discussion was based on a recent report from WWF that is available here.
- Norbert STEILEN - Senior Coordinator, Control Container Programme (CCP) at the UN Office against drugs and crime - animated another conference with Laurent FEDI, associate teacher at KEDGE.They presented this organization and discussed the key evolutions on the enlargement of the programme, the groundwork done by PCU units and the main results as well as a focus on the most significant maritime trafficking / CCP cooperation with the private sector.
