Over 40 guests, including representatives of the three Euro-Asia DBA partner institutions – Kedge Business School, Korea University and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University – attended the Opening Ceremony to welcome the DBA candidates who set off on their 3-year journey to complete the Euro-Asia Doctorate in Business Administration degree.
The 8 men and women who make up the 1st EA-DBA doctoral cohort of the Chinese programme include senior business executives of major multinational corporations (including Société Générale, Corporate & Investment Banking & Volvo Construction Equipment among others) as well as entrepreneurs whose companies are significant players in the Chinese domestic market. These participants enter the 2015-16 intake to the Euro-Asia DBA programme, comprised also of the English programme participants who began the EA-DBA in January in Seoul, South Korea.
Prof. Dwight MERUNKA, EA-DBA Programme Director & Associate Dean of DBA Programmes at Kedge Business School presided over the Opening Ceremony.
Prof. CHO Myeonghyeon, Associate Dean of Korea University Business School congratulated the new EA-DBA program participants.
Professor XU Xin, Senior EA-DBA Faculty Advisor with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Faculty of Business, underlined the value of the strategic cooperation between the three EA-DBA partner institutions. He pledged both the help and support of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Faculty of Business during seminar delivery and the supervision of doctoral dissertations for the EA-DBA Chinese participants.
Dr. ZHAO Haiyan, Kedge DBA Alumnus and General Manager of the Zhejiang Daywin Data Information Outstanding Service Co., Ltd., encouraged the new participants to fully engage themselves in pursuing the Doctoral Degree, but reminded them to also enjoy the learning process. He also discussed his valuable DBA experience in linking business research with corporate management.
Prof. WANG Fanghua, former Dean of the Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and EA-DBA Faculty Dissertation Advisor encouraged the new participants and discussed the remarkable progress of KEDGE Business School in China.
Dr. LIN Shaorong, Kedge DBA Alumnus and General Manager of China Material International Ltd., shared his experiences from the KEDGE DBA. He recounted that the DBA was a unique opportunity to use applied research in the case of his business activity, helping define the company’s values & distinctive corporate culture during a merger and acquisition process. As the Vice Chairman of the KEDGE DBA Association, he extended his welcome to new participants to join the DBA family and interact more with DBA graduates.
