An integral component of the MSc MAI in International Purchasing & Innovation Management, the "company visits" offer a valuable immersion into the realm of purchasing. Held in the second semester on the Bordeaux campus, these sessions bring together procurement teams, sometimes led by the Chief Procurement Officer themselves, and MSc specialisation year students.

Discovering purchasing practices in reputable enterprises

These events hold paramount importance for students eager to explore the intricacies of the procurement profession across various industries. Tailored for International Purchasing & Innovation Management programme participants, they feature international and French enterprises part of the programme's network. The represented groups encompass a diversity of sectors, spanning FMCG, pharmaceuticals, luxury, automotive, and construction. Esteemed names such as Reckitt, Kraft Heinz, Louis Vuitton, and Bouygues Construction have previously participated, enriching students' experiences. This year, one of the programme's standout company visits was to Lamborghini S.p.A. Alongside CPO Silvano Michieli and the People, Culture, and Organization department team, this visit provided an in-depth insight into the company's world, highlighting its innovations, CSR strategy, and the crucial importance of procurement. For MAI students, this was a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Lamborghini's world while engaging with passionate and committed professionals.

An immersive module with multifaceted objectives

The format can be different depending on the company but typically includes an open conference followed by more interactive sessions such as case studies, simulations, networking events, and recruitment sessions. Sometimes spanning several days, these events allow for an in-depth exploration of each company's practices and strategies. Beyond the professional aspect, these visits are designed to achieve specific pedagogical objectives. Students have the chance to discover real and current purchasing practices and strategies through direct interaction with industry professionals. The analysis of concrete cases allows for the application of knowledge gained in class, while interactions with companies enhance students' professional networks, paving the way for future collaborations and opportunities. KEDGE's MAI company visits offer more than just observation of the professional environment: they represent a genuine immersion into the dynamic and strategic world of purchasing, enriching students' academic journeys and effectively preparing them for their future careers in the field.
