MSc Business Law students explore the realities of ethics and compliance in international companies

19/01/2026
During the month of December, students enrolled in the MSc Business Law, Conduct & Compliance at KEDGE Business School (Paris campus) took part in a professional encounter designed to bridge academic learning with real-world corporate practice.

Organised by Andra Cotiga, Head of the programme, the session welcomed Arnaud Ryckewaert, Ethics Director at Gecina, for an in-depth discussion on careers in ethics and compliance within international organisations.

Understanding compliance roles from the inside

Drawing on his professional experience, Arnaud Ryckewaert provided students with a clear and practical overview of the responsibilities and challenges faced by compliance officers, ethics directors and compliance managers in today’s corporate environment. His presentation shed light on how these roles contribute to governance, risk prevention and ethical decision-making at the highest levels of organisations.
Key topics addressed during the session included anti-corruption compliance, anti-money laundering frameworks, and the fight against corporate fraud. Students also gained valuable insight into the French regulatory landscape, examined from both substantive and procedural perspectives, with a particular focus on the roles and powers of institutions such as the Agence Française Anticorruption (AFA) and the Parquet National Financier (PNF).

Linking theory to professional practice

The interactive exchange allowed students to ask questions freely, discuss real-life cases and better understand how legal and ethical frameworks are applied in practice within private corporations. This hands-on approach reflects the philosophy of the MSc Business Law, Conduct & Compliance, which places strong emphasis on professional immersion and direct engagement with industry experts.
