As part of its commitment to supporting students throughout their studies, the Toulon campus team has set up a distribution of food and hygiene products at low prices.
Fighting food insecurity among students
Fedet (Fédération des étudiants Toulonnais) has set up a number of distributions in Toulon, but until now these had been too far from the KEDGE campus. Thanks to the support of the Banque Alimentaire and a number of local businesses, a Fedet distribution was set up on February 23, with the addition of a new site in the Chalucet district, where the KEDGE campus is located, to combat food insecurity among our students.
A basket for 2€ every Thursday
The distribution and storage area is located on the premises of ESAD TPM (Beaux-Arts), opposite the KEDGE building and partner of the operation. The principle: students pay 2€ to FEDET and choose themselves their foodstuffs, according to the quantities indicated by FEDET, which will be delivered to them every Thursday at ESAD.
At a minimum, a student can put together a food basket worth approx. €30. The student health, prevention and well-being association ZEST, a partner in the project, will regularly communicate practical information on upcoming distributions on its Instagram account. An action contributing to the Care For People pillar of the KEDGE Impakt strategy, to combat poverty aggravated by the inflationary context.
According to the Linkee association, committed to greater solidarity in the fight against food waste, 97% of students restrict the quantity and quality of their food: "Food has become the primary adjustment variable for making ends meet".
