Michelle VAN WEEREN is an assistant professor at KEDGE Business School, specialising in sustainable finance and ESG ratings. She worked in Germany as an ESG analyst for three years before starting her thesis at Paris-Dauphine University. Her thesis, which focused on the financialisation of ESG analysis from the point of view of ESG analysts, was awarded the RIODD-Moody's 2022 prize for the best interdisciplinary thesis on sustainable development and organisations. After a post-doc at the London School of Economics and a research stay at Warwick Business School, UK, she joined KEDGE in September 2023. Her courses cover ESG data and reporting, sustainable investment strategies and financial and extra-financial analysis. Her research, which takes a sociological approach to sustainable finance issues, focuses on the production and consumption of ESG data and the work of extra-financial analysts, among others. Her articles have won several best paper awards at French and international conferences. She is a co-founder and member of the research project 'financialisation and re-embedding of ESG data', funded by the research chair Finance reconsidered.
