Luis Reyes-Ortiz, specialist in sustainable finance and professor at KEDGE, took part in the 1st Green and Solidarity Finance Meeting organised by Gomet' Media on Friday 24 November in Marseille.

Gomet' Media organised the first Green and Solidarity Finance Conference on Friday 24 November, bringing together more than 360 participants at the Cap Joliette building in Marseille, in the heart of the Euroméditerranée central business district.

The day focused on the local and regional finance ecosystem. Visitors and speakers from all over France discussed and explored  the various themes linked to the transformation of companies, investment funds, banks and institutions in a very rich programme with 80 speakers.

Luis Reyes-Ortiz, the MSc Sustainable Finance Academic Director and co-chair of the LCL Impact Finance Chair at KEDGE Business School, took part in a round table discussion on the school's commitment to teaching development and sustainable finance.

The round table was dedicated to the issue of sustainable financing for a sustainable society, and was moderated by Jeanne LAMANT, Head of Development and Projects at Gomet' Media & lecturer at KEDGE, and Jean-Francois EYRAUD, CEO & Gomet' Media Founder.

Programme for the 1st Green and Solidarity Finance Meetings

The presentations and discussions offered in a variety of formats (no fewer than seven round tables, six workshops, speeches by committed pairs and inspiring speakers), focused on the changes underway in the economy, finance and corporate environment as a result of climate pressure, and the changes needed to preserve the planet and the sustainability of economic activities.

The day was enlivened by a number of thematic debates, ranging from macroeconomic issues to the first potential answers:

  • Finance and the need for change
  • Sustainable finance for a sustainable society
  • Fundamental change, fund change
  • New tools for green and socially responsible finance
  • Extra-financial reporting: regulation or corporate strategy?
  • Companies with a mission, socially useful solidarity-based companies, new models of entrepreneurship
