Lockdown: KEDGE supports its students

30/10/2020
In order to ensure that no student is isolated and destitute facing this new period of lockdown, KEDGE is setting up support systems to manage the work to be done and the daily routine.

Attentive to the feedback from the lockdown period experienced in the spring, and as part of the business continuity plan, we have implemented measures to support and accompany our students remotely, during the coming weeks.

Thus, two types of intervention are proposed.

An intervention with a pedagogical dimension carried out by the Faculty and one, "extra-pedagogical", in the field of Student Services where the Wellness, Student Office, Learning by Doing and Alumni teams will take action.

Objectives of the programmes

  • Blend the students' weeks between classes and complementary activities
  • Ensure a personalized follow-up and leave no one alone
  • Identify and follow up on sensitive cases
  • Have indicators to assess the overall situation

Resources made available

  • Wellness: 1520 people
  • Associations : 60 associations / 10 to 30 people
  • Learning By Doing
  • Faculty: 180 professors

Pedagogical Support System

As of November 3, a sponsorship system will be put in place. Thus, each professor will be a mentor of 30 students.

The role of these faculty mentors is threefold:

  • To provide methodological assistance
  • Provide educational support
  • If necessary, refer to the Wellness unit and the psychological support system.

Student Services Device

  • Mentoring / buddy system

-For newcomers and international students (4000 approx.): - Organization via the Assos (each member of the office of an Asso takes care of 6 to 8 students per week by calling them)- Contact 1x / week minimum
-For non first time incoming and tutored students: Contact of the 1000 alumni tutors with request for close contact / 1 time / week

  • Support / Listening

-Communication on existing systems: an email will be sent via virtual campus for an online meeting to present the Wellness services.
-More than 500 students regularly monitored at this stage via Wellness (2019 figures)

  • Reinforcement of weekly activity options

Propose a schedule of activities, per week:
-Online sport : soft gym...
-Smoke-Free Month with tips on stress management
-Food: advice, cooking workshops
-Tutoring / Reinforcement
-Experiential / career center
-Wellness / listening

All the school's departments are taking action to ensure that no student is left alone, whether in his work or in his daily life, and to help him get through this period as well as possible.
