This meeting offered Sarah a unique chance to speak directly with the Minister, as well as to connect with other international students and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities linked to student mobility.
Sarah’s reflections on this remarkable experience
What motivated you to accept this meeting?
“Every experience is valuable. Speaking with a Minister is not something you get to do every day. I was also very interested in talking about my exchange.”
Which topics discussed with the Minister did you find most interesting?
“I found it very engaging and relevant that Minister Baptiste asked questions about our integration in France, whether in terms of housing, daily life, or cultural adjustments. He also addressed the language barrier, for international students who do not speak French.”
What struck you most during the meeting?
“The fact that other students had already participated in several exchanges during their studies thanks to the Erasmus grant. In my own circle, it was rare to meet so many people who had studied abroad multiple times.”
Did you have the opportunity to meet and interact with other students at the event?
“Yes, I met several international students with whom it was very enriching to exchange experiences, as well as ambassadors from the Bordeaux Erasmus programme, who shared their own international experiences.”
What do you take away from this experience?
“The value of being immersed in a completely different environment. Participating in an international exchange is incredibly enriching, both socially and personally. It allows you to meet new people, discover other cultures, and learn more about yourself and what you want from life.”
An experience reflecting our values
We are delighted that Sarah could represent KEDGE at this event: this meeting will remain a highly formative and memorable experience for her.
This opportunity perfectly illustrates our commitment to providing students with a welcoming and stimulating environment, where they can thrive and benefit from unique experiences, both academically and personally. International exchanges allow our students to develop open-mindedness, expand their networks, and gain a broader understanding of the world, while building their own academic and personal paths with confidence and curiosity.
At KEDGE, we continue to support and encourage these initiatives, confident that every international experience deeply enriches our students and helps to cultivate responsible, engaged global citizens.
