The MSc Business Law, Conduct & Compliance strengthens its academic programme with three expert-led seminars

24/02/2026
The MSc Business Law, Conduct & Compliance at KEDGE Business School equips students with advanced legal expertise at the intersection of international business, regulation and corporate responsibility. Designed for those aiming to operate in complex global environments, the programme combines rigorous academic foundations with real-world exposure to regulatory authorities, international institutions and leading practitioners.
Under the scientific supervision of Andra Cotiga, the MSc offers students direct access to high-level experts through specialised seminars embedded within the curriculum. This spring, the programme is hosting three outstanding seminars addressing some of the most pressing legal and economic challenges shaping today’s global economy.

Competing in an AI Economy

20 March 2026
As part of the competition law courses delivered within the MSc, KEDGE Business School is hosting an open seminar entitled “Competing in an AI Economy”, featuring OECD experts Ruben Maximiano, Sean Dougherty and Cristina Volpin.
Artificial Intelligence is transforming productivity, market structures and competitive dynamics across sectors and borders. This thought-provoking session explores how firms — and entire economies — can truly harness the benefits of AI.
Through empirical research, policy insights and concrete case studies, participants will examine:

  • The Big Picture – How AI compares to previous general-purpose technologies such as electricity or IT, and why its impact depends on firms’ ability to adapt.
  •  Productivity in Practice – Lessons from healthcare, education and business applications: what works, what doesn’t, and what is accelerating adoption.
  • Competitive Edge & Policy Levers – The evolving structure of AI markets, competition dynamics and the role of EU regulation and policy.

The seminar adopts an interactive format, including live polls, OECD research examples, group discussions and Q&A sessions, offering students a direct dialogue with international policy experts.

Regulation of Subsidies (EU & WTO)

9–10 March 2026
The MSc Business Law, Conduct & Compliance is honoured to welcome Florin Dascalescu, Senior Legal Counsel at the European Investment Bank, for two specialised seminars open to all KEDGE students.
This first module examines government subsidies as a strategic instrument of industrial policy, increasingly used to drive innovation, economic growth and climate transition.
The seminar analyses:

  • The multilateral subsidy framework under the WTO Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (ASCM)
  • The EU Anti-Subsidy Regulation (2016/1037)
  • The balance between States’ policy autonomy and the protection of fair competition in today’s geo-economic context

Participants gain a deep understanding of how subsidy control operates at both international and European levels, and how it shapes global trade and competition.

Financing Innovation in the European Economy

23 & 25 April 2026
In this second module, Florin Dascalescu explores how innovation — particularly in digital and deep-tech sectors — is financed across Europe.
The seminar examines:

  • The various forms of financing, including debt, equity and quasi-equity
  • The interaction between private capital, Member State intervention and EU-level funding
  • Regulatory constraints governing public financial support, including EU State aid rules and the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (2022/2560)

By bridging legal analysis with financial mechanisms, this seminar provides students with a comprehensive view of how Europe structures and regulates the funding of innovation in a competitive global environment.

Through these high-level seminars, the MSc Business Law, Conduct & Compliance demonstrates its commitment to connecting academic excellence with contemporary regulatory and economic challenges.
