French companies with more than fifty employees must produce and communicate their "Gender Equality Index" every year. Find the latest figures from KEDGE Business School.
The act No. 2018-771 of September 05th, 2018, on the freedom to choose one's professional future provided for new provisions for the sole purpose of putting an end to unexplained wage differentials between women and men.
In this context, "French companies with more than fifty employees must annually produce and communicate their Gender Equality Index".
This index includes, for companies with more than 250 employees, five indicators calculated on a total of 100 points. It measures various data in terms of professional equality:
pay differentials,
differences in the proportion of women and men increased,
differences in the proportion of women and men promoted,
systematic increase in the number of women in the year of maternity leave,
number of women in the ten highest paid positions in the company.
Companies have three years to comply when their overall result is below 75 points.
