A unique module to understand the challenges of transformation
Several renowned companies, such as Tetra Pak, Bolloré Logistics, Dormakaba, VeePee and Fnac Darty, challenge the students with complex and problematic cases. Using a "design thinking" approach, the students work on an initial framing phase that helps them identify guidelines, and assess the project’s feasibility with the company involved. The holistic analysis of key factors such as the stakeholders, the mission statement, the implementation plan and the key performance indicators enables the students to become genuine experts in transition support.
The "sustainability factories" constitute the pedagogical backbone of the Business Transformation for Sustainability programme. They involve selected partner tutors and company-appointed sponsors. All along the training curriculum, the testimonies and contributions of these sustainable transformation experts help students nurture their vision, until a first meeting in March 2023 at which they will present the progress of the challenges to the companies. According to the partners’ feedback, the students will then be able to launch the prototyping phase and fine-tune the solutions. An end of studies presentation will eventually take place at the sustainability factory finale in June 2023.
Reciprocally, Kedge’s “sustainability factories” allow corporate partners to benefit from the expertise of committed students. Any successful work can indeed provide new solutions to their transformational challenges, especially thanks to the latest industry tools placed at the core of the programme.
We are convinced that the main impact of such an approach lies in the transformational and pedagogical training designed for our future graduates, all of whom will enjoy a unique experience: understanding and facing the challenges they will meet on the job market and in their future corporate positions in sustainable organisational transformation management. The collaboration between the different stakeholders and the confrontation with real-life situations will allow them to become effective actors of change.
MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability: Learning by doing
In an ever-changing world, the sustainable dimension is becoming a real quest for meaning for organisations. The boundaries between financial, social and environmental objectives have become blurred. The "Business Transformation for Sustainability" MSc’s goal is to develop the essential professional skills needed to meet those new challenges.
Graduates will be trained and ready to implement policies for sustainable value creation through an in-depth understanding of civil society and government sectors, of how NGOs work, and how organisations can engage with them to create value. They will acquire the skills for change-management processes in organisations and, most importantly, sustainable transformation process management at both inter-organisational and ultimately societal levels.
The experiential approach exemplified by the "sustainability factories" module is part of a concrete learning path - facilitating the acquisition and application of knowledge in real-life cases. Students are thus able to experience current transformation problems and develop their ability to deploy effective solutions to complex challenges.
