As part of the preparation for the IPIC 2026 international conference, the CESIT at KEDGE Business School, with the support of ALICE – Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe, is pleased to offer a series of international webinars dedicated to discovering the concept and applications of the Physical Internet.

KEDGE's CESIT invites you to a webinar dedicated to Physical Internet applications for last-mile logistics

Webinar #1 – January 30, 2026 | 1:00 PM

A webinar at the heart of last-mile logistics innovationsResearchers from CESIT at KEDGE Business School, Walid Klibi and Yann Bouchery, will lead an international webinar dedicated to Physical Internet applications in last-mile logistics.

Urban deliveries today generate significant traffic, pollution, and disturbances. This webinar explains how last-mile logistics can be rethought through concrete solutions: shared urban microhubs and the use of cargo bikes, inspired by the Physical Internet concept.

By using existing public spaces to transfer parcels from trucks to cleaner vehicles, cities can enable more efficient and sustainable deliveries. Based on examples from Bordeaux and Manhattan, and on the ConStanCE project, we show that these solutions benefit local authorities, logistics providers, and the environment alike.

ConStanCE Project – presented by Yann Bouchery

  • Evaluation of parcel encapsulation to optimize cargo-bike deliveries
  • Analysis of critical success factors for standardized containerization
  • Measurement of the environmental impacts of this innovative approach
  • Application of Physical Internet principles to urban transport

SOUL Project – presented by Walid Klibi

  • Strategic location of shared urban microhubs
  • Game-theory-based modeling integrating the needs of municipalities and logistics service providers
  • Reduction of dependence on trucks for last-mile deliveries
  • Optimization of the use of under-utilized public spaces
