Reconnection week: KEDGE presents the 2nd edition of the Climate Fresco

18/01/2021
For the 2nd consecutive year, KEDGE participated with "La Fresque Climat" as part of the Reconnection Week.

The Reconnection Week, a new highlight of the new school year at KEDGE

As a key player in the field of sustainable development and CSR education, KEDGE reaffirms its values and CSR commitments by training its students in climate issues. In January, the school launched a "reconnection week", a week of 100% digital sharing and conviviality to start the new semester. The common thread is sustainable development with a particular focus on the climate. From 11 to 15 January, 900 students from the Grande Ecole Programme had the opportunity to exchange ideas in inspiring conferences and workshops mainly on sustainable development and climate.

The creation of a "Climate Fresco"

The "Fresque du climat" is an association that organises fun, participative and creative workshops on climate change. These sessions are based on collective intelligence and make people think about how climate works and the consequences of its disruption. At the start of the 2019 school year, KEDGE had already involved more than 1,000 students in the workshops to raise their awareness of climate issues and the impact of their actions on the world. As part of the reconnection week, this year, 900 students of the Grande Ecole programme were led to rediscover the cause and effect links between the different components of climate change in order to create a connection between them and initiate a process of reflection and action.
The 2nd edition of the Climate Fresco at KEDGE brought together the entire KEDGE ecosystem: staff, teachers, associations and students. The staff and members of the Management Committee become facilitators for the duration of the Climate Fresco. This was the case of Alexandre de Navailles, the school's general manager, who led a workshop this autumn.

"It seems very important to us to make our students aware of the climate emergency while giving them the opportunity to get together and create new links during this "reconnection week". I am also very proud to have around forty of the school's staff (teachers and administrative teams) volunteering to be facilitators during these fresco sessions, after having been trained beforehand. Given the importance of the issue at stake, I am going to take part, along with some members of the Management Committee, in running the Climate Fresco workshops. »

Next edition of those workshops should be held next September and include an english-speaking session.
