I went to a top ranked Grandes Ecole in south of France to pursue my Masters in International Business. Kedge Business School in Marseille became my next study destination and the city became my next abode. New city, new education system was definitely a surprise initially for me as I spend all my previous years in my home country but this place and it’s people welcomed me with open hearts. I still remember my first day in France when I landed at the airport in Marseille provence and a team of students from my school came to pick me up. This support was extended to me for the entire year which in return is being offered by me to the future students. Education system is really challenging as it compels you to work in both groups & individually. It’s fully of practical experiments, seminars, guest lectures and in the end industry visits. I met students from more than 10 nationalities in my class and professors from more than 30. I would be studying Marketing from a French professor but Finance from a Tunisian one. Operations was taught by somebody from Japan and let me assure you all of these elite professors are industry leaders and the knowledge they share with you is the real time one as they share their daily experiences with you in the class and not just something from the books which were written 30 years ago. Right after my ninth month during school, I got a job in Paris. Yes, you read it right, in nine months. Infact I am still a student as this job is a mandatory part of my diploma which I would get next year. Even I was taken by surprise that how different things looked when I was in India compared to where I am today. I was a student of International Business majoring in International Marketing and today my job is exactly what I studied at the school. I am working as a Country Manager to India for a french company based in Paris.
« After a generalist Bachelor's degree in business school, I decided to continue my studies by specializing in finance. The financial crisis of 2008 - and its consequences - opened my eyes to the deregulation and hyper-financiarisation of the financial system. This crisis highlighted several flaws in the system, such as incomplete analysis of the risks incurred by investors, based solely on financial data. The MSc Corporate & Sustainable Finance offered by Kedge BS de-dusted traditional finance to make it more sustainable. Thus, this MSc allows you to acquire the financial bases necessary for any profession in the sector (M&A, Financial Analyst, etc.) while developing solid knowledge of a non-financial nature (identifying and qualifying the risks borne by a company, valuing an asset with regard to its overall performance (financial and non-financial)). Led by academic or professional speakers, this master's degree has enabled me to develop my critical thinking skills thanks to the multitude of subjects covered, and the points of view presented on the challenges facing our society and the potential responses to be provided. »
“After an undergraduate degree, I was looking for a specialized programme that focused on my majors, corporate social responsibility and finance. During my Bachelor’s, I discovered the growing industry of socially responsible and impact investing and identified its goals and values as some I was starting to develop. Looking then for a finance programme that had sustainability in mind, I found the MSc in Sustainable Finance, which had it at its core. One of its most appealing perspective was the large share of professors and speakers who were professionals of the industry. Combined with the extensive use of case-studies, the coursework was more practical and tangible, allowing to apply the academic theory. I am since the end of the programme part of the responsible investment team at AXA Investment Managers, first as an intern in Paris and now in a V.I.E in London. Working at an active asset manager, my role within the team deals with investment research and engagement with investee companies, and has more recently focused on building research on impact in listed equities, to develop new impact-themed funds. Active ownership is a core value of the team. Our large pension schemes clients -insurers or corporates- have a long-term vision and see sustainability as a key to protect their capital by contributing to systemic issues. It is completely in line with all that I have learnt during my Master’s degree.”

Have you even wondered how it feels to spend the summer in the one of the most fascinating places in Europe, studying the subjects you like? Here are (for us as Kedge international students) the 4 most important perks of studying at KEDGE this summer:
1. Enjoy Studying Subjects You Love A lack of choice is NOT an issue with the Kedge International Summer School. Kedge offers 4 different programs (10 courses all together) in Marseille between June 5 and July 26. All are business related but also quite different and unique. Sports Marketing, CSR and Sustainable Development, Cross Cultural Negotiations, French as a Foreign Language…you have the opportunity to choose the subject(s) that interest you the most. And if you see a class in one program, and another in a different program, no problem - you have the flexibility to build your own “hybrid” option! 2. Earn Anywhere from 5 to 40 Transferrable ECTS credits A Summer School is great, but what about transferring those credits back home? Transferrable ECTS credits is something every degree seeking student is concerned about. Kedge gives the Summer School students the opportunity to earn credits during the summer by taking as little as one 5-ECTS class in a week, or as many as 8 courses (40 ECTS) over 2 months! Each of the four offered program packages delivers at least 10 ECTS, which means that you can spend your summer working closer to the required ECTS for your university degree at home, AND enjoy the beauty of Marseille and southern France at the same time. 3. Live in a Multicultural Environment The Kedge International Summer School hosts students from around the globe, which is the perfect opportunity to meet the students from completely different parts of the world. One of the main goals of the KEDGE Summer School is to live up to the Kedge Business School motto (CREATE SHARE CARE), by creating a diverse and attractive academic setting to promote interaction and exchange between international students. 4. Marseille – Is there a better place for summer vacation? It doesn’t matter what interests you have, Marseille will completely satisfy all of them! It is one of the biggest and oldest cities in France which offers cultural monuments and gorgeous beaches; the Calanques National Park borders the Kedge Luminy campus; you have museums, expositions, and of course, night life. It is a magnificent place that you have to visit at least once during your life.

In my career with Volvo Construction Equipment, a multi-national group that I have been with for 10 years now, one of the major challenges our group has faced is the cyclical nature of the construction equipment industry and increased market volatility in China. To succeed in this environment, our company must find the approaches that are both effective and reactive as the environment around it changes. I am focusing my DBA research on the impact of corporate culture in adapting to a given business environment and lasting levels of corporate performance. With an increased knowledge base in this field, I will be in a better position to facilitate change in the company, given environmental changes, by creating and communicating trust, shared values and the desire to positively drive corporate performance.
With a rich professional working experience in marketing management for over 20 years, I started to realize my limits. Therefore, I was looking for a place where allows me to do some experimental and academic researches. EA-DBA programme brings me a large platform for business research with both international participants and supports of high-level Europe and Asia research faculty. In this programme, participants could have a diverse choice for their research domains. In my case, I start this programme with my interests on consumer behavior and effects of social network on branding.
I have been in the finance industry for close to 10 years, and have worked my way through the ranks at the management level. During that time I have dealt with numerous clients, senior management, consultants and industry players across many countries in Asia and Europe. I strongly believe that the EA-DBA programme will enable me to pursue my dream in conducting CRM research, and to become an academic professor. I chose the EA-DBA because the courses are delivered across the globe in Europe and Asia. This provides an international perspective alongside many exciting networking, learning and sharing opportunities, which no other programme will be able to provide.
" I started my career twenty-four years ago with a master in IT. After the University, I quickly found a job in a medical device company, where I had for couple of years some technical roles. Quickly after, I moved into management position. Last June, I decided to leave that company and after couple months of deep reflection, I started to define what I didn't want to do anymore and what I was expecting for my second part of career. I started the Executive MBA program for two reasons. The first one, I wanted to be out of my comfort zone and wanted to strengthen some of my hard and soft skills with the goal, at some point in time, to have a professional experience abroad. The second reason would be, eventually, to start my own company at some point in time. With this MBA programme, I add an opportunity to meet with great teachers and professors but also fantastic people from different and various background in various countries. This was a great experience so far after one year working with them, having fun with them, but also sometimes having difficult moment, because this journey is not like an easy one. If like me, you have a reflection of what your career will look like in the future. Do not hesitate. I strongly recommend you subscribe on an Executive MBA program and you will not be disappointed."
