Over the past few years, businesses have become more and more international and interlinked. This way of working maximises competitiveness... But also exposes them to all sorts of dangers. Just one missing link and the whole chain suffers.
From an empirical point of view, making decisions without considering the unpredictable leads to the unsustainable, value-reducing solutions that companies try to create.
This is the subject of a study by Walid Klibi around the robustness of the Supply Chain network. If we want to come up with a robust network, it must be resilient to any scenario and create value over time. It requires a methodology offering a network structure that guarantees value creation for the business, in a sustainable way, in order to face hazards and guard against risks of catastrophic failure.
