“The Anticipatory Psychological Contract in Virtual and Global Work Contexts: A Qualitative Exploration in the IT Sector”, un webinar animé par Rodrigo Rodriguez

The work environment and employment relationships have significantly changed in the last years, incorporating new forms of organization and communication in virtual/remote and international work environments, especially in the IT sector due to the technological advancements and the nature of IT work itself, because specialized works related to software development, cybersecurity, data analysis, among others, can be performed from anywhere with stable internet connection.

These changes have raised interest in researching the importance of the psychological contract theory in earlier phases to ensure the attraction and retention of skilled IT talent worldwide. Based on the Dynamic Phase Model of Psychological Contract Processes, this study will emphasize the Creation Phase.

Referencing the Anticipatory Psychological Contract (APC) concept, defined as pre-employment individuals’ beliefs about future employment relationships, which could be identified during the selection phase.

This study will use a qualitative research design to explore how personal and work experiences shape IT candidates’ expectations at the time of looking for a new job, involving the challenges of international, virtual/remote work, and the impact of digital workspaces, providing insights into the subjective nature of the Anticipatory Psychological Contract in the IT sector.
