Schneider, already very invested in the programme - notably with its participation in the "Supply chain crisis" in 2021, which confronted the students with environments of growing instability - is further strengthening its ties with ISLI by becoming the sponsor of the 2021-22 classes.
Schneider Electric sponsors ISLI's Global Supply Chain Management class for the first time
Every year, Schneider Electric plays an active role in the recruitment of ISLI students. The company acknowledges ISLI's excellence in global supply chain management again by sponsoring the 2021-22 class. Already involved in training, Schneider Electric intends to further invest in the education of future supply chain managers.
As a sponsor, Mathieu Gandon, Plant General Manager at Schneider Electric, shared his experience with the students and stressed the importance of the supply chain for international companies. In his words, it is "a real gateway to multinational companies and it gives us a global and systemic vision of companies".
"At Schneider Electric, the issues related to the supply chain are key to offering a quality and sustainable customer service. We are particularly pleased to support the students of the ISLI programme and to give them a concrete idea of their future career. Sponsoring the ISLI is also an opportunity for us to detect and develop our future talents in a company where apprenticeship has always been valued!"
This partnership will open up numerous internship opportunities with international assignments for ISLI students.
"I am delighted to see that ISLI has a global company like Schneider Electric as a sponsor. With a global presence in over 100 countries, it has a complex supply chain to manage and is therefore an exciting challenge for any supply chain manager."
This sponsorship also emphasises two strong values that ISLI and Schneider Electric share, namely inclusiveness and the desire to develop a sustainable supply chain.
A strong commitment to inclusion and diversity
Schneider Electric has been pursuing a clear ambition for several years: to position itself as an inclusive and equitable company with worldwide recognition. Diversityis thus systematically encouraged and is a core value of its employer brand.
The greatest wealth is created by fostering differences, which is why Schneider Electric welcomes people from all backgrounds and promotes equal opportunities for all. Schneider Electric has been working on these issues for more than 30 years, making strong and ongoing commitments at all levels of the company. This engagement in favour of inclusiveness receives worldwide recognition: Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, ranking of the best companies for diversity in Europe by the Financial Times, Fortune ranking of the most respected companies in the world, ranking of the most attractive employers in the world by Universum, top 10 of the Glassdoor ranking - Employees' Choice of the best employers in France.
KEDGE has a shared commitment to providing access to a very high level of higher education for all, through a dedication to equal opportunities and the fight against all forms of discrimination. As a higher education institution, KEDGE aims to make access to training easier for all, and to facilitate the integration, educational follow-up and employability of its students. Its mission is to train future managers, and to promote diversity management and inclusiveness among them.
The school has adopted a diversity charter and appointed Anicia Jaegler, associate dean for inclusiveness, in early 2021.
3 main areas of focus have been defined:
- Disability: HandiKap network, a management and disability research chair
- Gender equality: professional equality index of 90/100, reporting unit
- Social openness: KAP equal opportunity scheme, scholarships and emergency fund, apprenticeships, mentoring with the Télémaque project, tutorials of excellence, some of which are labelled "Cordées de la réussite"
Marie-Laure FURGALA, Director of ISLI, is also very committed to inclusiveness at ISLI. Students are given courses on inclusiveness, hear from female leaders in supply chain management and receive career management advice based on feedback from the alumni network. She also helps promote the supply chain to all, including women, in order to move towards parity. In terms of recruitment, she recommends female students to pursue a career in the supply chain field because of the wide range of possibilities available to them. Finally, she is a member of the Lab Richesses Humaines of France Supply Chain, whose main topic is the attractiveness and the role of women in supply chain.
Sustainable development at the heart of KEDGE and Schneider Electric's strategies
Sustainable development is no longer just a focus, it is now part of Schneider Electric's DNA. The company has made it its core mission: "to enable everyone to mak the most of their energy and resources, in order to combine progress and sustainable development for all.
Schneider Electric's commitment to a more sustainable world earned it fourth place in this year's annual ranking of the "100 Most Sustainable Companies in the World" by Corporate Knights, a Canadian media and research company that produces rankings and assessments of financial products based on corporate sustainability performance.
In addition, the new Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) programme, running from 2021 to 2025, significantly accelerates previous goals. It is based on six long-term commitments, all of which are meant to contribute to the United Nations' sustainable development goals. These commitments are: to act decisively for the climate, to use resources efficiently, to act in accordance with their principles of trust, to guarantee equal opportunities, to mobilise all generations, to support local communities.
As far as KEDGE is concerned, the school signed its first climate commitment at the COP in Copenhagen in 2009. The KEDGE Impakt strategic project "Acting for the climate and biodiversity" has been launched with 5 areas of work:
- Sustainable mobility
- Green IT and responsible purchasing
- Buildings and energy
- Waste reduction and recovery
- Preservation of biodiversity
- Decarbonised business model
KEDGE already stands out for its concrete commitments to the climate, with an ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030 and to make a positive contribution to biodiversity:
- The "Climate Fresk" workshops on climate change for all students joining the school
- As a partner of "Nature 2050" since 2016, the school contributes to the restoration of 10,000m2 of biodiversity each year and trains about 2000 students on 200 case studies on biodiversity issues
- The school innovates on responsible digital issues. KEDGE is cutting its CO2 emissions linked to digital technology, reconditioning its IT equipment, training in handi-compatible tools, Tech For Good, and tackling the digital divide
- Since September 2014, all new students take the Sulitest designed to measure and improve knowledge of sustainability...

Consideration of the environment and ecological issues is leading companies of all sizes to develop innovative strategies to implement a green supply chain. The sustainable supply chain plays a central role in the ISLI, and students are introduced to the challenges and tools of sustainable development in this field. During their training, they receive a sustainable development certification, the Bilan Carbone®, allowing them to account for emissions and identify levers for reducing them. They therefore acquire the technical skills needed to recommend and implement sustainable decisions and will be able to transfer their licence to their company. They also have access to the research work of KEDGE's supply chain research centre, CESIT, which has one of its labs dedicated to sustainable supply chains. ISLI students are thus prepared to build the sustainable supply chain of tomorrow.
