After a PhD in private law at the University of Bordeaux obtained in 2000, Laurence Dessertine taught at her university and she is now a Professor at Kedge Business School on the Talence campus where she teaches business law. She likes her work as a professor and transmits to her students notions that will serve them throughout their professional life, and sometimes their personal life. She is also, since 2015, Departmental Councilor of the Gironde. She was also President of the Board of Directors of the Opéra National de Bordeaux, President of the Réunion des Opéras de France and Deputy Mayor of the downtown district of Bordeaux and community councilor from 2008 to 2020.
