Transformative journey: students' interviews on their two-month NGO mission in India
As part of the MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability programme, students have the chance to participate in a two-month mission with an NGO, either in France or abroad. Laurena and Romain took this opportunity to travel to India, where they worked with Project WHY, an educational initiative dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and their families. In this brief interview, they share their experiences.
Empowering change: Insights from my Journey with Project WHY in India
With the support of Enfances Indiennes, I had the privilege of completing a six-week voluntary internship at Project WHY during my final year of studies for an MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability. This experience has been incredibly rewarding for me. Being in daily contact with children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those from the slums, has profoundly impacted me in a positive way. Their kindness, respect, helpfulness, and constant joy of life have touched me deeply. It was a true delight to share my knowledge with them during my assignment and witness their dedication. Working with Project WHY is not just about contributing; it's about opening up to the world and forming meaningful connections with people who embrace us into their lives with open arms. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have embarked on such an enriching journey.
The Importance of an NGO mission as part of the MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability
As part of my studies for an MSc in Business Transformation for Sustainability, I had the incredible privilege of volunteering in the educational centres of Project WHY in Okhla and Yamuna, India. This journey was much more than just an adventure; it was an unforgettable human experience. What struck me the most during my six weeks of humanitarian mission were the deep bonds I formed with the children and all the members of Project WHY. Each day was filled with moments of genuine connection, sharing smiles, and camaraderie. Their warm welcome and generosity made my experience even more memorable.
This NGO experience has profoundly transformed me as a person. It opened my eyes to the importance of education and human solidarity, and it gave me a new perspective on life and my own aspirations. I am deeply grateful for it.
Ensuring future employability
After completing her studies in the Netherlands, Pia was drawn to the MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability out of her passion for sustainability and her desire to effect change within businesses. Throughout her programme, she engaged in a variety of impactful experiences. She embarked on a 2-month NGO mission with the French Federation of Food Banks in Paris, where she contributed to the fundraising department and proposed a new strategy. Additionally, she also participated in a company challenge, tackling a real-life project. The MSc, based in Paris, facilitates connections with key partner companies, enhancing students' employability.
Learning by doing
After completing a pathway course at KEDGE in Bordeaux, Nathan pursued the MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability seeking a more hands-on approach. This programme provided him with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary ecological, biodiversity, and social challenges. As part of his studies, Nathan embarked on a 2-month NGO mission with WWF in Kenya focusing on circular economy and plastic recycling. Additionally, he also participated in a company challenge with Fnac Darty centered on repairability, product lifespan, and user awareness. Delivered in Paris, the MSc connects students with key partner companies, enhancing employability.
Company Challenge in collaboration with Fnac Darty
I've had the pleasure of working with a group of students from the MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability (Rowell REYES, Léa SCHMITT, Nathan RICHARD and Eléa CHABOT) on Fnac Darty's sustainability and repairability issues. The project presented new ideas for society with a more pragmatic approach and innovative digital solutions for Fnac Darty, France's leading after-sales repairer.
This Master of Science will give you the knowledge you need to accelerate environmental issues within companies and build new economic models (Planet, People, Profit).
The KEDGE MSc Business Transformation for Sustainability programme builds future international leaders, ready to bring a new vision of the world, to take up the new challenges of safeguarding our planet thanks to a foundation of organisational and matrix, technical and technological skills and by bringing innovative, digital and disruptive solutions.
