A major recent project, led by Professors Diego Rinallo and Stefano Pace is Alpfoodway, a 3-year project funded by the EU Interreg Program Alpine Space. The project aims at generating sustainable development for peripheral Alpine areas.
It involves 14 institutional partners from across Europe, as well as numerous observers (policy makers, firms, research centers, industry and tourism associations). The total project total funding is € 2.7 million. Project activities include various networking and media events and will pave the way for a possible candidature of the Alpine Food Culture as UNESCO intangible heritage. Significant media coverage is expected.
